GHA - Artscapes Topic - African Drumming

For this term's WOW Experience, Squirrel Class, Badger Class and Dolphin Class were lucky enough to have a visit from Jennifer, who brought some African drums into school. Traditional African drums are an essential part of the continent’s music, culture, and communication - the music is deeply tied to storytelling, rituals, ceremonies, and community life. Learning drumming takes focus, coordination, and listening.

We listened to the drummer play different African rhythms and sounds on the drums and we were lucky enough to have a go ourselves. We took it in turns to watch our friends play the drums- it was great fun
