HBA -  Harvest Service, St Luke’s Church, Holbeach Hurn

Harvest Festival

It was a bright and chilly Autumn morning and our hosts at St Luke’s had made sure that the church was cosy for us when we arrived.  At the front of the church was proudly displayed a straw ‘stack’ which was made many years ago by a local farmer and is displayed every year in church.

Glen class showed us their autumn pictures and sang “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” using Makaton signing as they sang.

Nene class told us about farming locally in Lincolnshire and how the soil and the temperature were perfect for all the crops around us.

Welland class dramatised the story of Jesus feeding the 5000 with loaves and fishes then concluded our service with prayers of thanks for harvest.

We raised the roof with Cauliflowers Fluffy, Autumn Days and Conkers!

This was the fourth visit by Holbeach Bank School to St Luke’s as we continue to build our links with our local community and our nearest church.

We look forward to our next visit at Christmas.
